Why you shouldn't read this blog

I am not an expert on anything to do with running.

Nothing.

I don't have chiseled calves or six pack abs.

[Three C-sections prevents anything resembling a six-pack, unless it's a six-pack of squishy bean bags}

I don't have tons of experience running.

{I just started in the fall and have only done one 5K}

I was a music nerd in school and don't have an athletic bone in my body.

[Seriously.  I don't.}

I don't know the best things to eat, the best gear to use, the best music to listen to, or the latest tips on how to improve your speed.

{Unless you count being chased by a bear.  That would make me run faster.}

But there is something about this thing called running that has grabbed me
with a white-knuckle grip and won't let go.

It's not the steady breathing that gives rhythm to my prayers, or the cleansing sweat that trickles down my neck.  It's not the pounding out of all of my frustrations and annoyances and flaws and failures on the pavement, or the feeling of a sprint as the wind whips by my face.  It's not the feeling of heat inside and cold outside on a brisk winter morning, or the victory after beating the heat when I thought I wouldn't make it.  The combination of those things makes it better, but for me,
running is just me and God.

No more, no less.

I have found Him where my feet meet the road,
the place I least expected Him to be.

So I am inviting you:

Come on this journey with me?

Learn with me.  Fail with me.  Pick me up and I'll pick you up.
He will meet us there, speak to us there.

And we'll run this race one step at a time.

"You've all been to the stadium and seen the athletes race. Everyone runs; one wins. Run to win. All good athletes train hard. They do it for a gold medal that tarnishes and fades. You're after one that's gold eternally"
1 Corinthians 9:24-25, MSG

    4. I would love to be on the blog roll. The URL is http://www.thearmychapswife.net. I think I'm looking forward to not just learning tips and tricks, but being inspired to not give up. I'm really new at this whole running thing and I need all the help I can get. Being involved in an online community of women who have the same goals and desires helps me a ton. Thank you so much for doing this!
